"Order's up..." Aiden rang a bell, scooting a latte and a criossant over the counter. He'd just recently moved into town, and gotten a job at a quaint diner. There was little he'd tell you about himself, but considering his very vivid hair color, attractive features, and expansive facial scar, one might have assume he was a model at one point, and also a burn victim. He kept to himself, and he did his job supplying food and drinks to customers here.

The bell on the front door rang as Adrian stepped through. It wasn't a particularly cold day but she wore a turtleneck sweater anyway. She always did. This morning she had given in to abandoning her latest comic page after a long battle with writer's block. She now sought to drown her sorrows in a pool of maple syrup. She scanned the diner briefly hoping to catch a familiar face in the crowd. There was no one she knew, so she plopped herself down at the counter and picked up where she left off in 1984.

Aiden offered little more than a shy smile at the customer, before going back to preparing food for the various customers. When he'd caught himself up, he moved to Adrian. "What can I get for you?"

Adrian gave a shy smile of her own back and set down her book. "Just a cup of regular coffee and Belgian waffle please." In her mind she needed to remind herself not to fall in love with every boy that paid attention to her. This was his job for Christ's sake!

With a slight blush, he went about preparing the items. As was Aiden's habit, he often talked to himself in his head. "They're all cute....until they GRAB YOUR REIGNS AND DEMAND THEIR FREE WISHES!!! Spiteful dogs..." Aiden didn't really notice that he was holding the boiling coffee pot by the glass, and not the handle.

Adrian found it hard to focus on her literature. "I love you Mr. Wells," she thought to herself, "but my heart isn't into your Cassandra visions of the future today. I can't bring myself to be excited about anything these days it seems." She sighed and doodled a wolf with glasses on her napkin. "How am I supposed to find inspiration in a town where nothing really happens?" she asked just as she looked up to see her waiter holding the boiling glass of coffee. She raised an eyebrow, but quickly shrugged it off as perhaps not being as hot as she thought it was. She sighed again, "Where's inspiration when you need it?"

He shyed a little. "Um....movies?" He seemed to be somewhat nervous to talk to anyone, or make eye contact.

Adrian blushed. "Oh my gosh. I didn't even realize that I was thinking out loud." She felt her face growing hotter as she became embarrassed about her embarrassment. She attempted to play it cool. "So, um, -ahem- have any recommendations?"

"Definitely not Ghosts of Mars..." Inside joke to Aiden, as one of his wishes brought that movie to fruition.

Adrian had to laugh. "It's amazing that movie even got made. The director must have sold his soul to Satan or something. And what a waste that would have been."

Not exactly....just somebody who HATES being abused. "Maybe...maybe indeed." He bowed a little.

"Know if there's anything worth seeing at the local theater or where the rental store is in town? I just moved here not too long ago and I'm still trying to figure out where everything is. " This was a slight lie. Adrian had been in town for a few months now but really didn't know where the rental store was. (She mostly used Netflix for her movie needs.) She was mainly interested in her shy waiter, but was hoping that it didn't come off as obvious. Sometimes she felt as though her social skills never evolved past those of a high school teenager.
