Name/Nickname:
Aaron Daniel Fleischer
Age:
38 (1972)
Gender:
Male
Height:
6’4”
Weight:
192 lbs
Alignment:
Neutral Evil
Affliction:
Werewolf
Nationality:
German and Romanian ancestry
Occupation:
Biology professor at Bridgeport College
Skills and Abilities:
He’s a complete nerd – loves learning things, very good at retaining that knowledge. Brilliant in anything scientific. Played hockey and soccer back in the day. As a wolf, is a super strong and super fast, cruelly intelligent lunatic. Has heightened senses in both forms.
Weaknesses:
Traditional werewolf weaknesses, alcohol, weaknesses of any other supernatural traits he’ll acquire
Relationships:
Estranged from his wife and daughter (she got full custody, to his chagrin) due to a “dumb mistake,” closer to a few students and professors. Is friendly to his students and colleagues.
Personality:
Aaron is a charming and pleasant man. He’s friendly, funny, and considerate and also very witty and well-mannered when he wants to be. However, there are usually ulterior motives behind his charm, and he can be very calculating and manipulative. He’s easily bored and needs constant stimulation. His personality belies a quick temper.
Because of his newfound interest and obsession with the paranormal, as well as his own personal and supernatural issues, he’s now in a constant state of paranoia. Unlike the Barlows, he doesn’t fight the onset of the wolf – his personality and willingness make him more susceptible to changes.
Appearance:
Tall, wiry, has mousy brown hair, black glasses, fading pale, jagged scars down the right side of his face, neck, chest and back. Brown eyes. Beginning to go bald. Very fidgety. Wears sweater vests.
The wolf is thin yet muscular and has the square jaw and tiny eyes of a bull terrier, with extremely short fur save for a mane around the neck.
History:
He’s been one of the Biology professors at Bridgeport for ten years – he enjoys the subject and the pay, but after a while has found the whole experience unattractively stagnant. Mostly, Aaron wants out of his mousy, unassuming lot in life; it’s more than half over and he’s done nothing significant with it. He’s lost his family due to a “dumb mistake” on his part (which is all he’ll say about it), his career is stagnant, and he’s not the best at making good friends. He wants excitement, he wants risks, he wants to live it up!
The students liked him before; ever since he acquired some gnarly white scars on his face and neck, he’s now pretty “cool.” His stories about them change all of the time, but the truth is this: Several years ago, Aaron was attacked and brutally mauled by a large, red, wolf-like beast. He barely survived the encounter, but fought to keep his job once he recovered.
After subsequent months filled with maulings and murders attributed to a mysterious “Raven Heights Monster” as well as suffering from his own unexplained blackouts and mornings waking up in odd places during this time, he utilized his home video camera one night and finally put two and two together. This took a little while to sink in, understandably – shape shifting tended to fly in the face of everything established in his field, but he eventually and somewhat giddily came to accept it. This realization opened up his eyes to a world outside of the one he was used to – a world much more exciting and dangerous than his monotonous job as a professor. He can live a life of danger and risks, and was virtually untraceable! There was no useful evidence left at the crime scene, and even if some poor soul happened to catch a glimpse of the truth, who’d believe him? This opened the door to a whole new set of possibilities, and a potential giant thrill, if he could somehow remember his time as a monster (he experiments by slamming various pills before he changes), or learn to control future transformations.
Another theory sprang from this realization – What if werewolves were just the tip of the iceberg – what else could be out there? Folkloric beasts, ancient magic - things that are so much MORE than human! For this reason, the man moonlights (ha!) as a hobbyist paranormal investigator. Though he doesn’t know about Marlene’s halfway home (yet), he does find supernatural things and people, and often; when he finds them, he tries to find ways in which they, their powers or curses could be used for his own benefit. He’s an adrenaline junkie, a veritable magic addict, constantly looking for more power and his next fix – and he’s willing to get this fix using any means necessary.
Anything Else:
- Favorite Music - Warren Zevon, Jimmy Buffett, Bob Dylan, Wagner, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band, Climax Blues Band, Marshall Tucker Band, Steve Miller Band, Frank Sinatra...
- This was from a meme I did on deviantArt last year:
a. What initially prompted me to write/draw them.
b. One of their best traits.
c. One of their worst traits.
d. How easy/difficult I find it to write/draw the character.
e. The moment where I feel that I truly captured the character.
f. My plans to write/draw the character in the near future.
Aaron Fleischer
a. When :icontoktobis: sent out a call for monsters for her Tom to kill last year, I considered sending in a grade school teacher who was really a skin-stealing Boo Hag. I ended up second-guessing that one out of existence, but I liked the villainous teacher idea. The contest eventually died and I was left with these ideas. I ended up considerably changing that character, and stewed on the current, magic-addicted werewolf incarnation of Fleischer all summer long.
b. He's pretty darn smart, has many interests and does his best to excel in many of them. So, his braininess and determination.
c. The guy is completely amoral. He's not bad; he just has no scruples whatsoever. He was absent the day they were handing out consciences.
d. It's hard to write him. He's an addict, but I don't want to exaggerate that; he's amoral, but not evil. Yet, on top of all of this, he's super personable and charming. He's a guy – he's not a caricature, and that's difficult to write, given that he is one of the less savory members of the town, and that I do ultimately have very villainous plans for him. It's hard making all of it natural. Drawing him is okay, though.
e. It has yet to come. The drawings are close, though.
f. Wait and see. He's in a few stories, and I may RP him sparingly in the future.

Because I have very specific and somewhat morbid plans for him, I won’t RP him as much. But he’s here, just in case.
