Name/Nickname: Chloe Silson
Age: 19
Gender: Female
Height: 5'6"/ 167.64 cm
Weight: 194 lbs/ 87.99~ kg
Alignment: Neutral Good
Affliction: Gremlinitis. :P
Nationality: American
Occupation: N/A
Skills and Abilities: A general bad luck magnet, at times her inherited ability is put to use by dealing out unfortunate accidents to things and/or people who would do her harm (generally, though, it just turns out worse for her or the bad luck isn't given a direction and she gets the business end of things). However, Chloe's developing a bit of a knack for working out mishaps, and is fairly adaptable to most situations; she's level-headed, and not easy to panic in high-pressure situations despite her worrisome nature. As for other skills, she doesn't have many. She can crank out a story or two, sometimes. If the paper doesn't tear, or her pen doesn't break, or the computer doesn't blow up... You know.
Weaknesses: Chloe's not physically strong, and is more of a flight than a fight kind of gal. She's clumsy, and in a horror movie she'd be the girl who trips and sprains her ankle on flat, clean, obstacle-free ground. Strangely, she can take physical abuse a bit better than emotional, but I suppose that comes from being scraped and bruised during many freak accidents. She's quick to feel like a burden, and will rarely take offense over merely feeling like she's done something wrong. As a result, she distances herself to an almost painful extent and will draw back and/or leave completely at the first sign of anything negative; she doesn't want to inconvenience anyone, nor endanger anyone with the inevitable accident.
Relationships: Her parents, Kate and Stephen; two younger brothers, Vigo and Liam; and a few nondescript cousins, aunts, uncles, and other estranged relatives she's never even met.
Personality: As unintentionally mentioned above, Chloe is a sensitive, worrisome, low self-esteem, negative Nancy, Debbie downer type of girl. She keeps a rather good face, normally, and tries her best to do the nonchalant, witty, suave, and overall cool personality thing. This translates into dry humor, a fidgety and nervous demeanor, and a lot of wringing of her ears. She's easy to hurt emotionally, and generally goes out of her way to make herself feel bad because she knows she's a horrible monster with a horrible curse and every thing's her fault. Her typical mental day is as follows: When by herself, she is drab and while trying to be optimistic, dryly points out anything remotely negative in a "See? Figures, I knew I couldn't escape this crap. I never can. Blah blah blah" manner. She's easily exasperated, although years of constant bad luck can do that to a person. When with others, she is on high alert and nowhere near as calm as when alone. She's overprotective, and will typically try to guard or warn individuals that something bad is probably about to happen since she's around. Apologizing for little things that didn't go quite right ("Oh, they gave me ketchup instead of mayo"), wringing her ears in almost constant worry, and/or trying to find excuses to leave and spare her company from the impending doom is what the time would consist of. Although it's extremely rare, if she's not freaking out she's actually a kind of sweet girl. She likes helping and would be sociable, would join the local book club and bake a pie or two for the community picnic, but alas... She's usually never able to relax.
Appearance: (character sheet) Five feet, six inches - not including the extra half-foot or so her ears give her - and one hundred and ninety four pounds of squishy, pudgy Gremlin. Chloe's a sea foam green gal with small, prickly scales (Think that of a shark: rubbed one way they're smooth, and the other they're like stubble. Prickly, scaly stubble.), gargantuan and expressive ears (batty with a spiky, jagged lower edge), and ridiculous fangs. Blue hair, orange and peachy eyes, a slight muzzle with concave ridges (the kind of indent you see on the snouts of dinos and the like: example), glasses, and spikes along either side of her jaw. Four digits on her hands, three on her feet, claws, and the worst fashion sense imaginable.
History: Chloe was born to top notch Gremlin parents in a lavish mansion built within the walls of one of the US's most prestigious flight schools. She would want for nothing, as far as material concerns went, and her parents loved her very much despite their strict and sometimes cold demeanors. Of course, all that went out the window when the girl informed her parents that she would not be inheriting the family business, would not use her species' powers to do harm to humans or their property, and most certainly would not give up her dream of being a writer. After that bold and decisive outburst, her parents realized they would have no use for their wayward whelp, and kicked her butt to the curb. Not expecting such a response from the parents that were supposed to love her unconditionally, Chloe was abandoned in the world of humans, forced to hide in alleyways, sewers, and other derelict areas in order to survive and escape notice. She traveled when she could, although she didn't get far during said trips because of her ability to cause the worst possible accidents to happen around her. Such an accident dumped her into the harbor of Bridgeport where she now resides, surviving on scraps found around town and trying not to get into too much trouble
Anything Else: Fun facts!
- Chloe can shrink from her normal height to any size, even as small as an inch. When in that form she can consume less and still sustain herself, so this is her usual method of eating and surviving.
- She has no middle name.
- Her entire species lacks nasal passages and the sense of smell. Comes in handy when she has to live in a sewer.
- Chloe's a genetic weirdo among her species; she has the jaw spikes and fangs that only males are supposed to have. Not to mention the size of her ears, which are big even for their standards.
- Cherries are her favorite food.
