"Well, it might not look like a scorpion tail, but it sure has the punch" Cut warned as he rubbed his arm, "believe me, I got a bit of a first hand experience."
Cut then looked at Chloe saying "and I'm glad you like it, lucky for you caught them before they burned." He then placed one of the cinnamon buns on a plate on the ground for 'M'. Cut was having the time of his life, a nice dinner with Marlee and suddenly having a party with old and new friends out of thin air, this was a great day.

"Did I not mention about a Sphinx? I'm pretty sure I did." She sat and curled her long tail around her feet with the ball of quills in front of her, quite pleased how level headed and calm Myra was being about all this. No screaming, no throwing things and more importantly no trying to kill her. M let herself relax a bit.
“Sadly that is my curse. Summertime’s the worse, of course. My condolences for the gargoyles.” M had never heard of ‘that old gargoyle show’ so just assumed she was talking about gargoyles in general; whatever they were.
“I thought it doesn’t affect you?” M cocked her head to the side at Cut confused, she remembered the first time she hit him with her quills, but he was a demonic thing at the time, so the second time did affect him, if only slightly? She wondered how immune other monsters were to her venom; did all demons give immunity to their human hosts?
Yellow eyes watched the cinnamon roll and plate be placed on the floor and M gulped down the bun in one smooth movement, suddenly forgetting all about her curiosity.

"I loved that show," Chloe mumbled around the edge of her cinnamon bun, glancing to Myra briefly before her attention turned back to Cut. "Luck. Right." She smiled, although the word choice sent her thoughts back to negative-Nancy-ville, and shuffled to the nearest seat, plopping herself down in it and mentally settling on leaving after a sufficient ingestion of food. The decision was a little selfish, but there was no telling when she'd find food next, and Chloe was always weary of perusing through the trash to scrounge up a meal. Call her a mild germaphobe, but it was still icky.

“Me, too!” Marlee laughed. “I used to watch that show ALL the time! Brooklyn was my favorite.” More like she had an unrequited crush on him, but she didn’t need to go in to that. She was little back then, anyway. And she'd long ago kicked the habit of slightly sighing every time she said his name, too.
Marlee was impressed at how well Myra was taking all of this, all things considered - especially with M’s reemergence as a big, fairly scary-looking cat. Sphinx. Manticore. Something. Marlee herself liked cats -when they were tiny and cute and making little squeaky noises- but she’d seen enough Sylvester and Tweety to be a bit wary of anything bigger than a house cat. And figured that M wouldn’t be making cute little squeaky noises or playing with a yarn ball anytime soon. Still, that was just her - maybe humans or possessed humans had a different impression. And she was pretty sure she did like M - though she could’ve done with a little less hitting on Cut. Didn’t he see what she was doing? Anyway...
“Myra, I’m so glad you’re so cool about all this! ‘Cause for some reason, there’s plenty more around here, where we came from,” she said, then effortlessly scarfed down a cinnamon bun and grinned. “Man. Cut really knows how to throw a party, doesn’t he! These are really good!”
Then noticed the glum gremlin. “Aw, hey…what’s up?”

"We can talk about this later 'M'" Cut whispered with a little bit of worry, seeing as M was one too many people knowing about his demonic side. Thankfully the cinnamon roll was able to quickly quiet her, nothing like a full mouth to prevent someone from asking questions.
Though, he did notice Marlee looking at 'M' with a slight displeased look. Though, what was that he spied, a look of jealousy, was Marlee JEALOUS of 'M'? This was an interesting predicament for Cut, but his little Lili still need to grow, a little, probably just a phase in the teen aged harpy... growth cycle... thing...
"Oh dear, they never taught anything like this in school" Cut thought with a little spark of worry in his mind.
Cut couldn't help but worry about the little Gremlin too, she was such a sweet girl, it just happens that bad things happen to her... Speaking of bad things, he forgot that the stove was still waiting for the pepperoni slices.
"Oh, hold on guysIMEAN girls, I have some pepperoni chips to make, and I think I might accidentally be using a nonstick pan" Cut warned, "so if I open some windows, you will know why." Cut then retreated to the kitchen to turn down the heat on the pan which was thankfully cast iron. Quickly placing several large deli style slices of pepperoni on the pan and letting them sizzle was just one of the things Cut loved about cooking.

Myra smiled and took a bite of her cinnamon roll. "Brooklyn was my favorite gargoyle too." She laughed. "I'm kinda surprised I'm taking this as well as I am. But if there are a lot of others like us then maybe there's someone in this city who might be able to help me." She paused before continuing, "I don't want to be like this. I'm usually a good person, or at least I think I am. But I think I-It- may have killed someone. I don't know who, but I don't think I'd be here if it didn't"

Chloe observed the chatter whilst letting her mind wander through its usual bad train of thoughts, but blinked when Marlee addressed her and smiled awkwardly. "Oh, uh. Nothing at all." She shrugged, her toes interlocking as she looked down momentarily. "Same old, same old; you know?"
The gremlin cleared her throat some, looking hesitantly from Marlee to Myra before speaking to the latter. "Most of the time there's always someone who can help you, if you look hard enough or something." She wasn't touching the subject of murder, Chloe doubted she'd be able to say anything useful about that anyway. She knew about supernatural stuff to a degree, but it was based on what she'd seen. And things that kill were one of the few things she'd been thankfully sheltered from.

M rolled her eyes at Cut, but nodded her head, even though she didn’t quite understand why he wanted it to be kept hushed, but he’s feeding her and got rid of those cops, so who was she to complain?
M zoned out of the other girl’s conversation for a bit, she didn’t know who this Brooklyn guy was, but he and his show sure was loved. She moved further to the middle of the room and stretched, while Cut dashed out to cook again. She lay down on the carpet, flexing her claws and stretching as long as she could on her side.
Boy she could get used to this.
M lifted her head to join the conversation again.
“So?” She shrugged. “Whoever it was obviously deserved it then.”

"You know, my brother is a lawyer, so he could probably find a way to get you out of it" Cut yelled from the kitchen, "he's also a good investigator too." He then quickly slipped back into the kitchen to place the slightly crispy slices of pepperoni on a paper towel while readying another batch. He spun towards the refrigerator to get a jar of marinara sauce, even though he would love to make it from scratch he didn't have the time.
A little while later he steps out with a plate of crispy crimson disks with a bowl of red sauce nested in the center.

Marlee deftly and happily swiped one with her claw without even looking as she addressed Myra: "Ohhh...well, I think you're a good person. I can tell."
She hesitated before saying it, but her curiosity got the better of her.
"But -" she fluffed up her feathers nervously. "-can you tell us what happened? You don't have to...but Cut's brother is really, really good at what he does, if you need any help."

Myra dropped her gaze to the floor for several moments before looking back up at Marlee. "I can't say exactly what happened, it's not that I won't but I just don't remember." She laughed, "Somehow I turned a party into something like an AA meeting," before continuing in a more serious tone.
"I came from San Francisco, and when I lived there I dated a guy named Josh. I fell in love with him and long story short, I did something really stupid I didn't realize at the time, and essentially promised him my soul. We broke up eventually and he fell in with the wrong crowd I guess and wound up owing something pretty big which he didn't want to pay himself." She sighed. "So he sent them my way. I was on my way home from work when I found myself in a gray room with this weird guy, he was dressed like some mobster from the 20's you know? Well he said my soul had been sold and that he was there to collect....He had this huge freaky dog with him, big black claws, long teeth, and its eyes glowed like fire. It jumped at me and vanished, the man told me I would act as a debt collector myself before I found myself back on the street."
Myra shook her head. "I shrugged it off as some sort of weird dream or hallucination or whatever and went on with my life for a few days. But then I crossed paths with a man whose face I can't even remember. The last thing I remember was that he felt greasy or tainted in some fundamentally wrong way and then I blacked out. When I came to I was in China near a mans mauled body and over a month had passed. I found my way to a ship yard and stowed away, eventually winding up here."
"That man, he put what I think is a hellhound in me. It was the scariest thing I'd seen in my life, but that man, I think he was something much worse."

"Well, I killed" Cut began, kind of wishing he could take it back he corrected, "almost... killed my brother, but burned down the basement while I was at it." Though he placed a hand on Myra's shoulder assuring her, "if you happen to turn into that beast again, we will all help you as much as we can. I think Paste might have a Witch Doctor that owes him a favor."
Cut then slid over between Chloe and Marlee's side patting their heads adding, "we will all try our best, no matter how big or small that might be."

Chloe's eyes flinched closed and opened in unison with Cut's patting, and her ears flicked downward as she looked at him with a momentary look of awkward discomfort. However, she ignored the contact and simply turned back to Myra with what was an attempt at a kind smile.
"I concur, although, uh, I'm not sure how exactly I could help." She shrugged. "But hey, I could, er... clean a mean drainpipe or two." The gremlin figured that would probably end in disaster, but she doubted anyone would really prefer her over local cleaning supplies, so the offer hopefully wouldn't be taken up on.

Myra looked around at everyone and gave a smile. "Thanks, I'd really appreciate any help at all. If there's ever anything I can do for any of you don't hesitate to ask."
She took another bite of her cinnamon roll to hide an embarrassed emotional squeak. Her day had started out so uneventfully and now she had actually met people in the city and not only that, but they weren't completely normal and were willing to help her out.

Cut felt a mental slap to the back of his head by his brother who was, to him, oddly steamed. "She doesn't like to be touched, can't you see that" Paste said with a slightly aggressive tone. "Uhh, a tiny bit" Cut replied mentally. "That's the problem with you, your too 'physical' with people, some people aren't as social as you" Paste then assertively said, "now apologize to her."
Cut timidly leaned over towards Chloe and said "umm, sorry, I didn't know you... wouldn't like being patted... Imean, sorry for making you uncomfortable." Inside their mind Paste was making the most confused face he could muster.
"I have never seen you apologize so awkwardly in our LIFE!" Paste said so loudly that Cut unknowingly said it quietly in Paste's voice.
"I'm sorry, I just never had to apologize to my brother's girlfriend" Cut mentally replied. There was a growl from Paste before he slipped into the back of their mind. Cut then suffered a mild migraine for a few seconds.
