Phil glanced at Hailey's part of the screen - she was actually doing pretty good. For a beginner, anyway. "Hey, Hai, not bad! Just keep your head cool and those zombies won't stand a chance." He looked over at his part of the screen and was surprised to see that his health gauge had dropped dramatically and was blinking red. "Whaaa-?" And when he looked down, he saw that a zombie he had shot the both legs off earlier had crawled up to him and was clawing at his character's legs. He hadn't noticed that before. "Aaargh, no! Die! Die! Die!!" ...And people who said that video games made kids violent. Anyway, when he'd shot the crawler into oblivion he tried to concentrate on the game once more. He'd lost a lot of health, but he could still win if he concentrated really hard... "Sorry, mister?" "Huh?" said Phil who had clenched his teeth and shot everything that moved on the screen. "Would you mind telling me how old you are?" said a girl voice on his left side. "Can't right now!" he grumbled. "Trying to concentrate!" "You do know that that game is R-rated, right? It contains a lot of gore, weapons and graphic violence. You should consider handing that gun to me before I confiscate it from you." Phil was shocked, but not shocked enough to stop playing. He could still win... so close...!! "Alright, then," said the older girl and snatched the gun from his hands. Phil's character was immediatly run over with hordes of zombies and a big, humiliating GAME OVER covered his part of the screen. "Nooo! Why'd do that for?!" He turned angrily at the girl who'd taken his gun. She was older than he, in her later teens, and had red hair and wore an Arcane Arcadium west with a pin that said HI! MY NAME IS JENNIFER! The girl paid him no attention but turned toward Hailey. "Seriously, you shouldn't let him play with these. It's really irresponsible of you, you should know better. What if your little brother grew up to be a crazed mass murderer? Bet you wouldn't like that."

Hailey dropped the gun and looked at the girl with wide eyes and her puples looked slitted and she grabbed the girls collar and shoved her back onto the floor and narrowed her eyes" do or say that again....and you will regret it.....". Hailey was angry and it was not good she was angry and she growled and smirked" tsk i cant believe how freaking rude everyone is here so what does it matter they are games and seeing as you even mention crazed killers they where born like that, what the hell are games gonna do they are for fun... really are you that immature..." Hailey laughed in her throat it was creepy. Hailey turned and crossed her arms" unbelievable...... now.....don't you dare call me irresponsible.......you don't know the word or responsibility....come on Phil....." she started to walk away though Hailey was a nice and sweet girl once she was angry........it was not a good idea to be on the end of her frustration

Phil didn't know who was the most shocked, him or HI! MY NAME IS JENNIFER! Jennifer was pale, her eyes were wide open in terror and her mouth kept opening and closing, like a fish out of water. It looked like she most of all wanted to rise up and run away but didn't dare move. Phil felt that he had a similar expression on his face - sure, Jennifer had been extremely rude and bossy, but she didn't deserve getting scared out of her wits. Sure, Hailey had became angry at the guy in the ticket booth earlier but that had just been cool. This was plain scary. He noticed that Hailey started to walk and had to run to catch up with her. "Hailey, wait!" He looked at her with a bit frightened and even worried expression. He wasn't sure what to say - he wasn't one of the most sensitive persons and wasn't very good at talking with people about how they felt - but Hailey was clearly upset over something, and he had to find out what the cause was. "What... what happened in there? I mean, I know she was being a pain in the back and so, and I appreciate that you stood up for me... but you almost scared her to death! Why? Was it something she said?" He thought about what the older teenage girl had said to Hailey: something about responsibility, little brothers and mass murders. It didn't really make sense to him, but he didn't know much about Hailey. Maybe she'd lost someone to a crazed mass murderer and didn't like to be reminded about it?

Hailey outside and went to the back of the building an she slide down the wall and hugged her legs"Phil....". Sounding weak she looked at him" do you even know what i am?".she sighed and ran her hand through her hair. " im sorry........i got out of hand........i just i don't want to be reminded of things.....things im desperate to forget....im sorry if i scared you....". Sighing again she looked at the ground she didn't know what to do ' though.....that girl was getting on my nerves......" she looked away and smiled trying to ad least lighten to mood then it disappeared. Hailey looked at Phil again" do my a favor......tonight look up a siren for me OK".

What is she talking about? What is it that she wants to forget? Phil thought, bewildered. But instead of asking her straight out what it was she was talking about, he crossed his arms in front of him. "Huh, of course you didn't scare me" he lied. "And... you know, if you don't want to talk about it you don't have to. But it's... it's not so good to just clam up and keep things inside of you forever. I'm not saying that you should tell me about it right now, but... you know. Someone. Sometime. They say it a lot on... ehm, dr Phil." Phil blushed slightly, he hated when people quoted stuff from his namesake's show and had actually promised never to do it himself (if he did, the risk that people would start calling him dr Phil jr was imminent.) But what the heck, if it made Hailey feel better it was worth breaking his promise to himself. He smiled a bit when she smiled, appreciating that she tried to lighten up the subject. "Yeah, it's no wonder you lost your head, really. I mean, did you see the content expression on her face when she snatched the gun from me? I'm glad she's not my sister or anything, I bet she's just living for taking stuff away from people and telling them what they can or can't do. And speaking of siblings, do you think that the guy in the ticket booth was her brother or something? I mean, in that case obnoxiousness runs in the family." But he couldn't joke away the last thing she'd say. What did he know about sirens, actually? Well, it wasn't much. He just knew that she lived in the water and looked mermaid-y when she was herself, but that she looked as a normal human when she got dry. Well, a very pretty human, actually. He wouldn't really call her "normal", it was a way too average word for her. But what more did he know? An old memory from a class about mythology he'd had a year or two ago stirred in his mind; he hadn't really been paying attention, but he remembered something about sirens and... singing. Yes, that was it - sirens could sing really good. But what was wrong with that? A song had never hurt anyone, right?

Hailey looked at him and smiled" promise me.......please......". Getting up and looked down at him slightly and looked away and walked off slightly " the weather is starting to look bad....i better hurry off to the sea...". Looking up she was right the clouds where forming and everything then she looked at Phil and smiled" thanks Phil.....for the fun". Secretly she was afraid if Phil knew about her past he would hate her maybe it was better that way but she would miss him even though they only meet a few weeks ago.

"Uh... yeah. I promise." Phil felt a bit awkward, not really sure if he wanted to look up sirens or not. Because... Hailey was his friend, and he didn't exactly have a lot of those; and Phil felt that whatever it was that made Hailey so serious might be enough to somehow ruin their friendship. But a promise was a promise - he'd look it up later. Phil gave her an unsure little wave, the whole situation was so strange. It felt like she was saying goodbye forever. But that couldn't be the case, right? "Yeah, it was fun! Let's do it again sometime, but with a better movie and less scaring girls who work at the mall," he said casually, trying to not acknowledge the weirdness in the situation. "You still owe me one swimming lesson, right?"
