Name/Nickname: Moñái, more commonly known as “Monty”
Age: Looks to be in his early twenties, actual age is really, really freakin' old (he doesn't care to divulge such information)
Gender: Male
Height: 6’4"/1.9m~ (serpent form reaches 43ft/13m~ long and thicker in diameter than the width of your average door)
Weight: 199lbs/90kg~ (serpent form weighs about a ton or more, no one’s really been able to weigh him)
Alignment: Borders between Chaotic Neutral and Lawful Evil, depending on whether he's dealing with humans or supernatural beings.
Affliction: Moñái is one of the seven legendary monsters of Guaraní mythology, although with less emphasis on the “myth” part. Though born a monstrous serpent, he can take the form of a human.
Nationality: Guaraní (South American)
Occupation: Occasional street performer, more often a loiterer and troublemaker.
Skills and Abilities: Monty can shape shift between his original serpent form and his human guise with little to no effort, and the horns he sports in both forms enable him to enthrall and overall hypnotize just about any human (and possibly some supernatural creatures, although he typically has respect for and doesn't bother them). His jaw can dislocate, he has a slight increase in strength in his human form (and is a powerhouse in his serpent form), and as far as he knows he is immortal. Normal talents include some magic tricks and theatrically pleasing feats; with the bones of a snake, he is highly flexible and quite agile.
Weaknesses: He is sluggish and grumpy when in the cold, and if the temperature is low enough it can even pose temporary health problems and immobilize him. He has a major sweet tooth, and for the most part lacks a moral code. He views humans as no more than cattle, and despite performing for them to get their money (to buy chocolates! ), he loathes to keep one in his company for very long. He's a real jerk, and his cruel and discriminatory behavior tends to offend a lot of people, so he's often quite lonely.
Relationships: His parents, Tau and Kerana, whom reside in South America and refuse to speak to him because of past misdeeds. An ex fiancé that tried to burn his brothers and himself alive, killing herself in the process and doing minimal harm to the boys, and not much else. Not many people like him. :[
Personality: As previously mentioned, Monty is an asshole. He's selfish, egotistic, and very distasteful to humans. To supernatural creatures he is marginally pleasant (although his opinions on humans usually cancel out any good feelings from his acquaintances), and genuinely curious as to who and what they are. To those he is close to he is quite warm and friendly, as well as dreadfully protective. He gets in business that doesn't concern him, offends and shocks people without even noticing, and thinks children taste delicious. :]
Appearance: (Character Sheet) Six-four and a pound shy of two hundred in human form, Monty is huge. While lithe, the guy's packed with muscle. His eyes change color frequently (sometimes constantly, it isn't really up to him), and his hair is straight, black, and reaches down to his waist. He often ties up or deposits his hair in various hats, and keeps headgear around to hide his horns. Said horns are typically little nubby points that protrude from his forehead, multicolored and constantly changing like his eyes (think iridescence that shows up constantly, I guess..?). No facial hair, a long, almost feminine face, dark, tanned brown skin, and
History: Monty is a monstrous serpent, and one of three sons to the gods Tau and Kerana. He wrecked havoc on the open fields, destroying and devouring most things, and taking what remained and hoarding them in a cave. He did this for quite a while before a charming and beautiful young mortal, Porâsý, seduced him into believing she'd fallen in love with him. After planning and going about the rituals of marriage, the deceitful wench tried to escape and join the other people of the villages outside of his home, where they intended to burn his brothers and himself alive. Monty caught his fiancé, preventing her from escaping as she called out to her cohorts to burn the cave anyway. While he and his brothers were greatly injured and appeared dead to the overjoyed villagers, they'd survived and healed over a period of months. In that time Monty grew bitter, angry, and distrustful towards the woman he'd loved, and by extension all humans. Though expressing his hatred, he buried his would-be wife and escaped, wandering the lands for centuries, even millennia, and watching mortals die and civilizations die and be reborn. He adapted to his surroundings, taking the form of the humans he so hated, and grew to accept their culture in a sour, mocking way. He would murder every so often, feasting on a human or two every couple years before moving to another town or city. This is how he ended up in Bridgeport, and soon after discovered that his kind were not the only monsters on the earth. This provoked his interested, and the serpent stayed an unusually long time, developing more of a taste for chocolates and sweets than human flesh as he observed and entertained himself with the goings-on of beasties.
Anything Else: Fun facts
- Monty has super awesome infrared (is that right?) vision! Cause, you know... He's a snake. :]
- His horns are relatively brittle, and can break off. Broken horn = broken hypnosis, and the horns take a day or so to completely grow back. Even a crack hampers his ability to control people.
- He unfortunately does not have a nice accent. Way to be lame, Monty.
